HISTORY

BRIDGES is a Northern Kentucky Brain Injury Support Group established in April 2004 at the request of numerous brain injured survivors searching for support, education and resources. The acronym of BRIDGES means BRain Injury Demands Guidance Education and Support.

BRIDGES was incorporated in May 2008 as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation to promote brain injury awareness education and raise funds for the advocacy of brain injured survivors and their families. BRIDGES merged with Brain Injury Alliance of Northern Kentucky in November of 2020.

MISSION

BRIDGES, Inc.’s mission is to work with individuals impacted by acquired brain injury to develop a community environment through education and support to assist them in achieving their highest potential.

Pursuant to our overall mission, BRIDGES has monthly support group meetings for brain injured survivors and their families. Guests of the families are welcome as part of our outreach to members of the community. Speakers are often part of this activity bringing issues important to our members for discussion. We have hosted a professional educational conference annually for the past 13 years where presenters bring cutting edge information on brain injury research for diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing rehabilitation. We welcome TBI survivors and their families to participate with professionals at the conference.
