Read about how a BRIDGES helmet helped prevent a brain injury… January 2016.
I just wanted to let you know we made an EMS run for a child struck while riding a bike. It was a low speed impact when a SUV was backing out of a driveway. The child was wearing one of the helmets that was given out on the 4th of July by BRIDGES here at the Fire Department. The helmet did sustain some damage. It had scuff marks from impacting the ground. I believe the helmet was one of the factors preventing the child from being seriously injured. I informed the parents that the helmet worked and that they do need to replace it. I asked their permission on letting you know about this incident.
Thank you and please share my appreciation with everyone at BRIDGES. I have known this child for a few years now and it would have been devastat-ing to see him injured.
Thank you,
Chris Rust
